Featured Campaign

🚫 Push for a Statewide Acelepryn Ban

Connecticut Surfrider is leading the charge to ban Acelepryn (chlorantraniliprole), a turf larvicide that’s highly toxic to aquatic life—including invertebrates, oysters, and shrimp—due to runoff and drift. Our chapter is funding statewide water testing and oyster exposure studies to highlight its impact. Want to help? Email chair@ct.surfrider.org to get involved.

Surfrider Sprints

Now in its fourth season, the Surfrider Sprints series brings head-to-head SUP racing to paddle events across Connecticut, Vermont, and Massachusetts. An overlay to existing races, the Sprints link the Northeast paddle community through fast, spectator-friendly competition — and raise funds to protect the waters we all paddle on.

Cleanups & Community Events

There's no better way to connect with our coast than to show up for it. From beach cleanups along Long Island Sound to community festivals and tabling events across the state, Surfrider CT is out in the field all season long — and we'd love to have you with us. Every cleanup feeds data into a nationwide database, turning local action into worldwide impact. No experience needed; just bring yourself (and a reusable water bottle).

The Surfrider Foundation is committed to fostering a just, equitable, diverse and inclusive organization for all people who protect and enjoy the world’s ocean, waves and beaches.
