Racers got a taste of “late summer New England” conditions with warm sunny skies, 20+ mph wind gusts, and changing water conditions, but despite all, smiles were everywhere among the more than 50 participants at the 3rd Annual Summer’s End SUP Classic held on Saturday, September 7th at Esker Point Beach in Groton. The course challenged participants with 3 different buoy turns, a loop around a small island, up-wind and side-wind tracks, and a long, but challenging down-wind stretch through Long Island Sound. Special thanks to the Surfrider volunteers, the sponsors, vendors, and especially the participants for making this our biggest and best year so far. Overall results are posted below.
